Howdy y'all
By now, I'm sure there's not many of you who even check to see if I've blogged lately.
Sorry, but I've been preoccupied, and haven't felt like talking about it.
Without going into too many specifics, because I'm just not ready for that, it's been a hard year in some ways.
Some of you know that most things remind me of song lyrics, in a life imitating art imitating life circle of thought.
Well, today I started singing "I know where I've been" from Hairspray (lyrics by Scott Wittman & Marc Shaiman), and I thought I'd share the lyrics (with a line omitted that doesn't apply to me...) with you all as a short reflection on where my head is. It's a good struggle song - for a movement, for a personal struggle, for any group going through a difficult time. Right now it speaks to me in a very specific way.
